Financial Technology Skills That Actually Matter
We spent three years watching people struggle with generic courses that promised everything and delivered spreadsheets. That's why our program focuses on real banking APIs, actual payment systems, and the kind of technical knowledge that gets you hired.
Starting September 2025, we're running cohorts of 18 students. Small groups mean you get actual feedback instead of automated responses. And honestly, we can only manage that many properly.

What You'll Learn (And Why It Matters)
No fluff modules or theory lectures that put you to sleep. Every week builds something you can show an employer. We structure everything around portfolio work that demonstrates actual capability.
Payment Gateway Integration
You'll connect Stripe, PayPal, and local Australian payment processors to web applications. Real transactions with test environments. By week six, you've built checkout flows that handle edge cases most developers miss.
8 weeksBanking API Development
Work with open banking standards and build applications that aggregate account data. You'll understand OAuth flows, webhook management, and how to handle sensitive financial information properly.
10 weeksSecurity & Compliance Fundamentals
PCI DSS requirements, encryption methods, and Australian financial regulations. Boring but essential. You'll learn what keeps fintech engineers employed and companies out of legal trouble.
6 weeksData Analysis for Finance
Python libraries for financial calculations, risk assessment models, and reporting dashboards. You'll work with transaction datasets and build tools that help businesses make decisions.
7 weeksBlockchain & Digital Assets
Smart contracts, cryptocurrency wallet integration, and understanding distributed ledgers. Not get-rich-quick schemes — actual technical implementation of blockchain technology in finance.
6 weeksPortfolio Capstone Project
Build a complete fintech application from scratch. Past students have created budgeting apps, micro-investment platforms, and expense tracking tools. You'll present yours to local tech employers in February 2026.
5 weeksWhat Previous Students Actually Said
We asked graduates from our 2024 cohort what mattered most. Here's what they told us, completely unedited.
I had zero coding experience before this. What helped was how they broke down complex API documentation into steps I could follow. The instructors answered my questions within hours, not days. By month four, I was building features I didn't think I'd understand for years.
The capstone project became my portfolio. I built a superannuation tracking app that three employers asked about during interviews. One hired me specifically to expand on that concept. Worth mentioning — the career guidance sessions were surprisingly practical.
